Supplements for people over age 40
Below are choices the scientific literature supports for healthy people without unusual situations, like taking blood thinners, or claiming an allergy to vitamin C. 1. Mito-C . Twice a day – provides vitamin C, vitamin K, Juvenon ingredients, blueberry and green tea nutrients, caloric restriction benefits, nutrients to reduce protein misfolding
2. AREDs – Provides vitamin C, Vitamin E,, nutrients to reduce risk for macular degeneration
3. Vitamin B3, niacin500 mg25xRDA
4. Vitamin D, cholecalciferol – 2 to 5,000 iu . 500-1,250%
5. fish oil, 180EPA, 120DHA – 2g daily, or at least 2 servings of fish weekly
6. SAMe – 200mg daily
7. Resveratrol – 1 tablet daily
8. Melatonin , 3 mg – 4 nights a week
9. aspirin, 325 mg, standard pill – 3 times a week
10. Vitamin B12, cyanocobalamin – 1,000 mcg once a week
11. Triumph – on the 1st, 2nd, 15th, and 16th day of each month
NO Calcium – it is hazardous, just get vitamin D and weight bearing exercise
Zinc (zinc gluconate) – only at first sign of a cold
multivitamin – only if your appetite has become much smaller and poorer
Vitamin B9, folic acid – 200 mcg or eat vegetables that have it, romaine lettuce
