I completed the Chicago Triathlon on Sunday.  Hooray for exercise!  Jogged non-stop the 6.15 miles!

Senescent cells cause arthritis. Ageing Research Reviews 70 (2021) 101413 . And since exercise destroys senescent cells, it can prevent or reduce arthritis, as it has for me through training for my thriathlon Aug 29th.

Exercise slows Parkinson’s. I posted on a Parkinson’s website, suggesting exercise may slow Parkinson’s. Response was overwhelming. Those who exercise hard have stopped the progression of their Parkinson’s. Those who have stopped exercising report their health is now declining.

AARP 7 worst habits for your brain: 1. You accentuate the negative 2. You skip your vaccines 3. You drink sugary beverages 4. You have unhealthy sleep habits 5. You crank up your headphones 6. You regularly take this type of medicine including tricyclic antidepressants, some overactive bladder medications and some over-the-counter antihistamines 7. You don’t have a sense of purpose

“Study: 20% of vaccinated health workers who test positive suffer from long COVID,” one headline read. “One in five breakthrough cases among health care workers in Israel resulted in long COVID,” announced another. Widen the lens to take in all the vaccinated employees, and the long-COVID rate drops to less than one tenth of one per cent—something like one in fifteen hundred people.  Like many Americans, I have started to scale back. I’ve cancelled trips, avoided gatherings, stopped dining indoors.
