Nutrition Investigator Roc’s Triathlon Preparation

So here’s the morning after report. I miscalculated, and swam a full mile instead of half a mile that the actual event will require Aug 29 in Lake Michigan!

Yesterday, Aug 29, 2021, when I am 72 years old, it was 90 degrees, sunny, with strong winds.  I first went to a swimming pool where it turns out I swam a full mile, dodging children who made waves, in 64 minutes. I got out, changed to shorts, went to my bike and rode 60 minutes, which is normally enough to go 15 miles. I then jogged for 45 minutes, as I usually get 12 to 15 minutes per mile, so that should cover at least 3. The entire event/ordeal/triumph took 3 hrs and 20 minutes. I then took two Aleve, and the next morning, my arms are a bit sore, but otherwise raring to go.

I hope for Chicago I can break 3 hours. But I realize the weather makes a huge difference. Peddling and jogging into the wind as crushed soda cans fly by in the opposite direction from the gusting winds, and sweat raining into my eyes, makes it a great challenge.

I am delighted that I destroyed a lot of senescent cells that were trying to make me old and sick. Not bad for almost 73 years old.
