There is an explosion in scientific information in general. Half of the scientists who ever lived are alive today. Governments are spending fortunes on research, as are the private sector and billionaires hoping to live longer lives.
If one aligned a freight train moving 60 mph alongside a stack of the new books being published, the stack of books would move faster. Thanks to subscribers, I now review the American Journal of Nutrition and severak other authoritative journals, in addition to the Gerontology Research Group postings, and many other sources.
From my viewpoint, it is much better and easier to stay healthy than to recover health. So nutrition and exercise are locks for your health. Knowledge is the key to using those locks. Especially with all of the nutrition research on how to maintain youthful health, it is a great time to be alive and aware. Just today I informed someone who did not know that it is not healthy to eat white bread.
As I skim tables of contents and then select articles to read, I am looking for important information for those who are healthy. If you have some particular health problem, you need to ask an expert, and search for the information yourself. Tragically, many doctors know little about how to stay healthy, only expensive treatments for illness. For instance, for depression, only SAMe is effective.
