Treat COVID 12 with Vitamin D and melatonin

Feb 26, 2022-Science 18 Feb pg706: COVID boots risk of heart disease and brain harm.  Those hospitalized have a15% increased risk and intensive care cases have a 30% increase for heart damage.  The risk for 14 neuropsychiatric disorders was 46% greater than controls.

12/22/2020 – Results from a new Cleveland Clinic-led study: Melatonin usage may help prevent COVID-19 infection

“The first randomized controlled trial (RCT) of vitamin D in COVID-19 has just been published involving 76 patients. vitamin D nearly abolished the odds of requiring treatment in ICU. Although the number of deaths was too small to say for sure, vitamin D may actually abolish the risk of death from COVID-19.

The treatment in this RCT was soft capsules of 532 mcg 25(OH)D on day 1 of admission to the hospital, followed by 266 mcg on days 3 and 7, and then 266 mcg once a week until discharge, ICU admission, or death.

This is equivalent to 106,400 IU vitamin D on day 1, 53,200 IU on days 3 and 7, and 53,200 IU weekly thereafter. If this were given as daily doses, it would be the equivalent of 30,400 per day for the first week, followed by a maintenance dose of 7,600 IU per day.

2/20/21 – Preliminary testing shows that 29 out of 30 virus patients in serious condition that were administered the drug, dubbed EXO-CD24, once a day made a full recovery within five days https://www.ynetnews.com/health_science/article/rJoYyaYeO

TO REDUCE YOUR RISK FOR COVID:

Science magazine recently reported that people having the lowest levels of vitamin D in their serum were most likely to develop serious COVID infection and symptoms. Taking 5,000 IU of vitamin D daily is likely to reduce your risk of contracting COVID and becoming ill. Also, those taking melatonin had a much lower risk of infection. Taking beneficial melatonin supplements at night does not interfere with natural melatonin production.  Lower Plasma Melatonin Was Associated with Increased Proinflammatory Cytokines
