Growing old is not all easy.  I just am recovering from a bad case of poison ivy.  Last night I bit a piece of bone which punctured an old cavity and split one of my teeth, which had be to pulled out today.  And to repair my damaged collar bone from a sledding accident a year ago, I need to have shoulder surgery that will leave me in a sling for three months.  I do not know how I can still be so happy and optimistic.  Good friends, gratitude for all that is okay for me, awareness that despite the world’s suffering, I try to give back what I can.
