LONG NOTES:
The Turmeric Solution For Effective Depression Tx?? – A recent notice that floated across my inbox from WebMD suggested that the use of the spice turmeric for spice turmeric might be effective in the treatment of depression.
AARP-6 medicines that may harm your kidneys-kidney disease is among the top 10 causes of death. People who are most vulnerable to medication-induced adverse kidney events include those 65 and older, those with underlying kidney disease, people who are dehydrated, patients with low blood pressure, and those who have other health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease or have had heart surgery or transplantation. NSAIDs , Antibiotics, Laxatives, Contrast dyes, acid suppressants include omeprazole (Prilosec) and esomeprazole (Nexium), famotidine (Pepcid) and calcium carbonate (Tums), A 2007 review of supplement-induced kidney dysfunction lists more than 15 herbs and supplements reported to have caused kidney problems, including chromium, creatine, licorice, willow bark, and yohimbe.
Science 11 Dec pg 1084 – Cancer fighting cells made in body help patients. Approach could be faster than CAR-T cells. Immune cells engineered to home in on cancer cells like guided missiles can be lifesavers—if patients can get them in time. Currently, their T cells must be harvested and given a surface protein, a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR), through genetic manipulation, a slow and expensive lab process. Making the cells directly inside the body should be faster, and early clinical data now suggest the strategy can work. In one of the first trials, the approach induced the so-called in vivo CAR-T cells in four patients with multiple myeloma, a blood cancer, and evicted the malignant cells from their bone marrow.
Science 11 Dec pg 1107 – To deal with frequent nightmares, 3 steps. Use the waking imagination to rewrite the dream with a happier outcome. Dream engineering includes having pleasant music, light, and comfort items where you sleep. Try to promote lucid dreaming – you set intentions and repeat phrases like “I will remember I’m dreaming” before sleep.
From Kevin Fickenscher: A recent notice that floated across my inbox from WebMD suggested that the use of the spice turmeric for spice turmeric might be effective in the treatment of depression. Turmeric is a common ingredient for many Indian and Asian foods and is found in the root stalk of curcumin. Wowser!!! Evidently, it works by settling the immune system a bit and the reason depression is impacted is that there is growing evidence that inflammation of the immune system is part of the problem.
Healthcare costs in the US are 20+% of GDP. In England, 12%, in France, 3.3%. Cutting federal aid for health insurance will dramatically raise healthcare costs because many people will have to go to the emergency room instead of getting doctor care.
A recent report came out about the “health benefits” of switching to Green Tea as an alternative to coffee. First, green tea is widely consumed throughout the world as a $300 billion business and dates back to 3000 BC in China. It is derived from the Camellia Sinensis plant and holds anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which are two elements that help to prolong life.

“White Christmas has endured for decades because it offers us something we desperately need: a reminder of the transformative power of generosity and community. [The] story teaches us that true fulfillment comes not from what we achieve for ourselves, but from what we do for others.”
