There is a new formula out for Mito-C, and a reader asked about the changes.  Mito-C is a nutritional supplement I developed designed to prevent protein misfolding, which is one of the main causes of aging, especially arthritis and dementias, such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.  At my website, you can read about the causes of aging and how to extend your healthspan.  Here is the link to the article I published about Mito-C.  And here is my web page about Mito-C and Triumph, a supplement I developed to reduce the risk of bladder cancer and its recurrence.

“I wanted to give you a heads up on why we do proprietary blends. When a product is a “hit” and we hope  your new formula will be, Amazon and others often “knock it off” with the same exact ingredient list at a lower price, using inferior sources that leads the public to think it’s the same!vvBy using proprietary blend, this makes it more difficult to copy.”

Here is the link to the old formula and rationale.  It cost $39.95 per bottle of 60 pills, which are taken twice a day, in the morning and afternoon, to keep vitamin C levels elevated.

  1. The liposomal vitamin C is better absorbed than regular vitamin C, so it provides closer to the 500 mg dose that is ideal.
  2. The vitamin K2 dosage is reduced to get higher levels of other ingredients in.
  3. Since N acetyl carnitine and alpha-lipoic acid are important for brain health, they have been increased.
  4. The EGCG and quercetin amounts work synergistically, so it is only the total that matters, and Quercetin costs less so this saves money.
  5. The bioflavonoids were cut down to make room for N acetyl carnitine and alpha-lipoic acid.
  6. Glutathione is there primarily for the amino acid cysteine which is deficient in people with poor diets. It is found in high protein foods, and people now eat more protein than a decade ago.  Ditto for tyrosine.
